During your first appointment, we'll complete a physical exam and go over a number of health questions, including a list of medications, your symptoms, and more. We'll take a blood sample, as well. From there, we'll insert a small rice-size BioTE pellet under your skin that will slowly release hormones into your bloodstream. To do this, we'll apply a local anesthetic and will make a small incision into your skin where the pellet will be inserted. Then, of course, we'll close the incision up. Every 3 – 6 months, we'll have you come in so we can insert a new pellet. While it may seem awkward to have a pellet in your skin, you should not feel it at all.
